Women in Leadership Across the Bay Area and Beyond

There may be no better use case for Twitter than the crowd-sourced list.

Yesterday morning, a speaker for an upcoming USV Women’s Leadership breakfast event had to cancel at the last minute. With less than 3 days’ notice, I took to Twitter to seek last-minute guests to join the ~30 women who had already RSVP’ed to attend.

The results were astounding. In the end, I had a dozen Retweets or comments and even more DMs nominating the names of incredible women leaders all over the Bay Area and beyond.

We only needed a few speakers for our session on Tuesday, but I thought this list was so compelling that it needed to be shared even more broadly.

On my flight to the West Coast today, I aggregated everyone’s responses and nominations — 30 in total — and I thought I’d share them all below.

Whether you’re looking for a speaker for your own event or a few new faces for your Twittter feed, I hope you’re all as inspired as I was in reading through what these women have accomplished.

And to the three women who agreed to join us on Tuesday morning for our event — I can’t wait to meet you in person. Thanks, Twitterverse.
